A Better Outlook

Sometimes work sucks,
but we can't all be ducks.
Although it would be nice,
now that I think about it,
to swim and fly and skid on ice...
Some species have all the luck,
while we seem to get stuck in muck.

But I gather that often you will find,
whether in your heart or in your mind,
that eating worms and grubs with slime
isn't something all too kind.

But hey, what can I say,
it can't rain everyday.
Hang on, hold tight,
and maybe dark will soon turn to light.
